Play on is the motto for the Indianapolis Colts. “We’re too young to rest,” Wayne told the Indianapolis Star. “We probably need to put everybody out there and have them continue to play. I don’t think we can afford to rest. I can’t speak for everybody; but I’m built to play.” Preach Reggie! Wayne and the 10-5 Colts locked up the wild card spot in the playoffs with their win over Kansas City this past Sunday. I am absolutely loving the “new” Indianapolis Colts! I admit, the changes made last year upset me (especially letting Manning walk) but I love what Ryan Grigson has done with this young Colts team. He is easily executive of the year in my book. By allowing the guys to keep their momentum going he is essentially helping them to possibly go further in the postseason. I used to HATE when the staff rested starters to prepare for the playoffs. And don’t get me started on the undefeated season the Colts should have had in 2009! The season ended with a 14-2 record and a Superbowl loss to the New Orleans Saints. It still pains me! Now that head coach Pagano is back at the reins, the Colts have accomplished what they set out to do when learning of Chuck’s leukemia diagnosis, extend the season. When asked about the game plan, Pagano had this to say:
“It’s a 16 game season and this is the last game of the season,” Pagano said. “We set some goals for ourselves a long time ago and watching what this team has done in my absence for the last three months, at this point we owe it to ourselves, this community, our fans and our city. It’s just not in our DNA to go out and say we’re going to rest this guy or that guy.”
That’s right Chuck! #Chuckstrong!
The Colts beat the Texans 28-16 in Indy today and will play in Baltimore against a tough Ravens team next weekend in the Wildcard game.
PLAYOFFS?! PLAYOFFS?! HELL YEA! WE’RE IN THE PLAYOFFS! 🙂
