Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones: “It’s going to be very uncomfortable in the coming weeks and months…”

Jerry Jones is mad!

Wait, Jerry Jones is always mad…well at least at the end of the past three seasons. Cowboys fans are mad as well and sick of promises of playoff appearances and maybe even a Superbowl win. It seems as if every season is “THE SEASON” for the Dallas Cowboys. Yet, they always find a way to lose or at least make it harder on themselves to win. So what is the main issue here? Anyone? On paper, the Cowboys look like quite the roster. With players like Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, and Miles Austin any opponent would be nervous. But why is it that Dallas has not had a winning season since 2009?

In a radio interview with 105.3 The Fan, Jones offered his support for star quarterback Tony Romo but he wouldn’t comment on the job statuses of head coach Jason Garrett and Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan.“I can assure you guys — I can assure our fans — it’s going to be very uncomfortable for the next few weeks and months at Valley Ranch,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. “Tony is a tremendous asset and he’s an asset that is going to be with the Dallas Cowboys for as far as I am concerned, a long time,” he said.

Hmm…so what is in store for the coaches? Are their jobs in jeopardy? I think now is the time for Jerry Jones to really shake things up! If it were me, (not that I have any experience owning a NFL team) I would gut the entire staff. I don’t think cutting or trading Romo is the answer, but maybe the pieces around him need to be replaced. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to notice that the way things have been for the past 3 years just isn’t working out. Honestly, it has been quite painful to watch and I am NOT even Cowboy’s fan, but I have been forced to watch more games than I would like because they have been deemed “America’s Favorite Team” or whatever. When I did watch, more often than not they looked out of sync up until about the 3rd quarter when they decide to snap out of whatever fog they’re in and get in the game. OR, they would do the total opposite. The Cowboys would let teams come back after leading an entire game. Weird if you ask me. Needless to say, Tahlia Speaks will be on the lookout for the “uncomfortable” changes to come! Stay tuned…

  1. Jerry will act mad so that Cowboy fans think he is going to fix things which is what he said at the end of last season. Blah blah blah. If he had the answers, he would have already fixed it. This fan doesn’t look for any changes of substance only smoke screens. Romo should have been gone a long time ago.

    • If you had your choice, who would you like to quarterback the team?

      • In the short term, maybe they should find out what they have in Orton. With Romo throwing more INTs than TDs and crumbling in the big games, the next guy should get an opportunity.

Draft WV QB Geno Smith. Rookie QBs have done well in the NFL this year. Smith threw 55 TDs compared to 14 INTs last season. He is expected get drafted around 10 in the draft.

I agree with you on changing coaches but why do you think Romo is the answer?
        .

      • Sounds like a nice plan ya got there! I feel like Romo all in all is a pretty good qb. I feel like (from what I’ve watched this season) that he needs a better offensive line first and foremost. I think upgrading the receiving core is an option too. I agree…a ton of interceptions is a no no but so many factors go into the anatomy of an interception yet the blame always falls on the qb. Did the receiver run the right route? Was there good pass protection? I think Romo deserves one more shot…however I do agree is he overpaid and they shouldn’t extend his contract unless he does wonders this upcoming season lol I also think he needs to work on his clutch factor as well.

Disclaimer! I am no Cowboys expert or Romo fan.. these are just observations I’ve made when I have watched them. 🙂 good luck with your team next season!

      • The blame for interceptions do fall on the QB. That’s the way football is. Since the QB is the one passing the ball, not throwing it at all is an option if there isn’t enough time or a wrong route is run etc.

I love that term “anatomy of an interception”. Sounds so politically correct. Let’s not blame someone and hurt their feelings.

There really isn’t a grey area and the fact that the coaches aren’t holding him accountable for them insures that we will see more of it from him.

Romo has had 10 years as an NFL QB and still no playoff victories under numerous coaches. (including Parcells who has won super bowls) and with some pro bowl offensive linemen and receivers.

Why would one more year do the trick? Ain’t happening baby!

Give him his contract and he will have no incentive to improve.

But I guess since Dallas isn’t your team, why do you care if they suck another year with Romo choking in the big game?

        Enjoyed your thoughts!

      • Thanks 🙂 enjoyed yours as well
