When word broke out that Beyoncé would be this year’s Superbowl halftime entertainment, many assumed that the superstar diva was being paid big bucks. However, an NFL spokesperson has confirmed that Beyoncé is NOT getting paid to be on the worlds biggest stage this Sunday.
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said: ‘We pay the production costs for the halftime show, there is no fee for the artists.’
It is rumored that the most the NFL will pay in production costs is around $600,000. The rest is footed by the artist. And sources say that Bey is shelling out additional hundreds of thousands to make the show perfect. Whoo hoo!
On the flip side, Destiny’s Child band member Michelle Williams has all but shattered fans hopes of a Destiny’s Child reunion during Beyoncé’s performance. When asked if she was excited about reuniting with her old band mates, the singer said, “I’m going to be in the musical ‘Fela!’. I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it (the reunion report) is not true. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Hmm…I don’t believe it. I think it is all a publicity stunt and the people will see Destiny’s Child perform on Feb. 3rd. Just watch….
