Many people could almost bet their last dollar that they would see NBA guard Paul Pierce retire in a Boston Celtics jersey. Now, that may not be the case! Although he’s a legend for the Celtics, Pierce might be wearing a new jersey at some point this season says Steve Kyle of HOOPSWORLD. He has reported that the Celtics could be entertaining the possibility of moving Pierce. Season-ending injuries to Rajon Rondo and up and coming forward Jared Sullinger may have upped the ante for Ainge to make a move immediately that would ensure Boston would remain a contender for the NBAfinals.
Despite turning 36, Pierce has been excellent this year. He’s averaging 18.6 points, 4.0 assists and 6.1 rebounds a game. While his shooting percentage has gone down slightly, Pierce remains a deadly shooter.
Wow! I am anxious to see how this all plays out! I can’t imagine Pierce in anything but a Celtics uniform. If they do decide trade him, are they making a big mistake?
