Clive Davis, Sony Music executive, is bisexual. I cannot say I am extremely surprised but nevertheless good for him. At the age of 80, he is finally comfortable in his own skin. In his tell-all autobiography, Davis, who was twice married, told ABC news he knew he was bisexual after the end of his second marriage in 1985. Clive says he slept with both men and women during his sexual exploration period. However, he spent the past 20 years in stable relationships with two men. One was with a doctor for 13 years, the other for seven years with another man he won’t name. Hmm, I wonder who HE is? I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a high profile celebrity.
“He tells me bisexuality is ‘maligned and misunderstood’ but that it is his truth and he decided it was time for him to say so publicly,” says ABC News anchor Cynthia McFadden, who interviewed Clive Davis for “Nightline”.“I’m not lying,” Davis said. ”[Bisexuality] does exist. For over 50 years I never had sex with a male. It wasn’t repressed. I had very good sexual relationships with women.”
Well well…good he has finally shared his truth. I wonder if Davis shared these feelings with any of his past wives? My hope for other men (or women) that may be in a similar situation, is that they share their bisexuality with any partner they enter a committed sexual relationship with. They don’t have to share it with the world, but they do owe sexual honesty to their partner.
