UPDATE: Indianapolis Colts sign Pro Bowl safety LaRon Landry to 4 year deal

UPDATE 11:30pm 3/13/13:

ESPN has reported (as well as the Colts own Facebook page) that the Colts have signed Pro Bowl safety LaRon Landry to a 4 year deal. Read details here: ESPN

3/13/13 4:00pm Eastern time:

Pro Bowl safety LaRon Landry is in my city (Indianapolis) today as we speak. Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted:

Landry was originally selected by the Redskins with the No. 6 overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft. Injuries hampered Landry in his final two years in Washington in 2010 and 2011, and the Redskins opted to let him go in 2012. Landry then signed with the Jets and was named to the AFC’s 2012 Pro Bowl roster after recording 99 tackles, forcing four fumbles and intercepting two passes.

According to multiple sources, the Colts front office plans to lay it on thick during Landry’s visit in hopes of getting a commitment TODAY.
Indianapolis has sought major upgrades in its secondary, signing Greg Toler on Tuesday and re-signing Darius Butler. Adding Landry would complete a secondary overhaul in Indianapolis that is so desperately needed.

Ohhh lawd my fingers are crossed on this one. My team has been known for making mediocre moves during the offseason. C’mon Grigs and Irsay, Prove me wrong and make it happen!

Thanks to loyal reader Eli for the tip!
