Rapper Gucci Mane turned himself in to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday night, shortly after he learned there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Gucci, whose real name is Radric Davis, 33, is accused of hitting a soldier over the head with a champagne bottle during a scuffle at Atlanta’s Harlem Nightclub on March 16. Davis, 33, faces an aggravated assault charge after causing a “severe laceration” to the man whom he hit with a champagne bottle, according to a police report. The fan claims to have approached Gucci and tried to strike up a conversation, police said.
“I’m in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, is it okay?” he said he asked a security guard.“I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle,” he told Channel 2 news. The man said his head wound required 10 stitches to close.
Gucci’s court date is April 10th.
